Chinese Hack Attack:

Computer vandals defaced Web sites, posting messages blaming the U.S. for the collision of a U.S. spy plane and a Chinese jet in April. Internet sites associated with the Department of Energy, the U.S. Navy and United Press International news service were vandalized, said Mike Assante, vice president of intelligence for Internet security firm Vigilinx Inc. Security experts and the FBI warned last week that hackers in China could orchestrate attacks as the computer vandals seek to retaliate against U.S. hacker assaults. Tensions between the U.S. and China have increased over the plane crash and U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan. “We are seeing Web defacements across a broad spectrum,” Assante said, and Chinese hackers have claimed responsibility.
