Birmingham 11, Taft 3--Patrick Roark struck out eight in four innings and Lucio Tapia and Junior Garcia each had two hits and three runs batted in to lead Birmingham (19-8, 8-4) in a West Valley League game at Taft.
Royal 6, Newbury Park 1--Derek Albeck (6-1) struck out eight and pitched a five-hitter for the Highlanders (18-7, 6-4) in a Marmonte League victory at Royal.
