Robbers Set Off Grenade at Mall, Injuring 40
Robbers took jewelry from a mall store in Quezon City in metropolitan Manila and then exploded a grenade as they escaped, injuring at least 40 people, officials said.
The robbers also shot and wounded a mall guard, police said. Authorities made at least one arrest, radio station DZBB reported.
The robbers hurled the grenade at the ground floor of the Farmer’s Plaza after breaking into a jewelry store with guns and hammers, which they also used to smash glass display cases.
Police said the robbers may be the same group that exploded grenades at a suburban mall in Caloocan City last week, injuring 37 people.
