Ex-Mayoral Candidate John Taylor Indicted
An unsuccessful candidate for the Yorba Linda City Council who allegedly lives outside the city has been indicted on two counts of submitting false nomination papers.
John Taylor, 50, was indicted by the Orange County Grand Jury on May 2 and is to be arraigned today.
In his nomination papers for the November 2000 election, Taylor said he lived in Yorba Linda, but police later discovered he lived in an unincorporated county area, said Mike Fell, senior deputy district attorney.
A candidate must live within city limits to run for a council seat.
Taylor, who declined to discuss the case, could face as much as three years, eight months in state prison.
