Los Angeles County Community Development Commission/Housing Authority needs participants and volunteers for its sixth annual 5K run May 24 at McCaslin Business Park in Monterey Park. * Method Fest independent film festival, running June 15-22 at Laemmle Theaters in Pasadena, needs volunteers for a variety of administrative duties, including promoting the event to local film schools and student filmmakers, event planning, working with the public and distributing fliers. * Volunteer Center of Los Angeles and the Assistance League of Southern California need volunteers to help with the Human Race on May 19 in Griffith Park, which will raise funds for human service organizations throughout Los Angeles.
