Immigration Extension

Share

Re “Ending the Long Lines,” editorial, May 4: Los Angeles is not a modern-day Ellis Island. Those who immigrated to Ellis Island were legally in the U.S. Extending the time period to apply for legal residency mocks our immigration laws and the sanctity of marriage. And although you give the positions of various congressional representatives, none of those cited could tell you what our long-term immigration goals are. The reason is simple: We have no comprehensive policy, just a mishmash of whatever seems opportune at the time.
