The Upward Bound program at Cal Lutheran University is set to hold a graduation ceremony on Friday at 7 p.m. in Samuelson Chapel.

Students who have completed the program have been accepted at colleges such as UCLA, Stanford, Harvard and Cornell.

Cal Lutheran’s program serves 55 students from across Ventura County and offers participants academic, career and cultural development activities.

The program includes a five-week stay at the university, where students take classes.

“The whole idea is to get them prepared for college,” said Linda Paige Fulford, Cal Lutheran spokeswoman.
