Calm Weekend at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —
Penn State University’s weekend graduation ceremonies were held without incident despite fears of racial violence.
People attending the ceremonies were required to pass through metal detectors as about 6,250 students graduated during the weekend.
The university said it would use the detectors in response to a threat to bomb graduation mailed last month to a black student leader.
