Univision, the nation’s largest Spanish-language television network, will launch a second network aimed at young males.

“We’re not trying to steal audience from ourselves,” Tom McGarrity, president of network sales for Univision, told the Los Angeles Times. “We’re trying to bring in a whole group of viewers who are not watching Spanish-language television.”

The network is expected to provide details today in New York when it announces its fall prime-time lineup to advertisers.

The new network will be built from a group of television stations Univision recently bought from the USA Network. It will target men between the ages of 18 and 34 who are bilingual and tend to watch Spanish-language television only for soccer games.
