Wine of the Week

Share

From a vineyard first planted back in 1895 by Eduardo and Angela Seghesio comes this terrific red Zinfandel. It has luscious ripe fruit and softer tannins from 1999’s long growing season and just enough acidity to keep it lively. The taste is blackberries, pepper and wild herbs. This is that rarity, an elegant Zin. It’s a wine that needs food, and it’s perfect for barbecue weather.

About $22. Available at fine wine shops and retailers. Order online at $25.50 per bottle (six bottle limit, shipping $10) at https://www.seghesio.com.
