2 Americans Reach Mt. Everest Summit

A pair of American mountaineers reached the summit of Mt. Everest on Saturday morning, making them the first in the world this year to scale Earth’s highest point, expedition leader Eric Simonson said.
The pair were Mike Otis, 38, a marketing professional from Phoenix, and Terence LaFrance, 39, a civil engineer from Albany, N.Y.
