Children’s Place Plans Distribution Center
Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc. said it is opening a new distribution center in Ontario in the chain’s West Coast expansion efforts. The 250,000-square-foot facility will supply 120 stores in the West by the end of the year and about 200 by the end of 2002, the children’s clothing retailer said.
The center “marks an important step toward building our infrastructure to achieve our goal of operating over 1,000 stores across the United States,” said Ezra Dabah, chairman and chief executive of the Secaucus, N.J.-based company.
Children’s Place operates 449 stores in 44 states, including 28 in California, and also sells products through its Web site.
