Mail Carrier Rescues Another Injured Woman
For the second time in 10 months, Sun Valley letter carrier Gerald Apusen has been credited with saving a customer.
On Saturday, postal officials said, Apusen noticed that mail was piling up at Lillie Lathem’s home. When he knocked on the door, the elderly woman cried out that she had fallen.
The woman, who had laid injured for four days, has been hospitalized.
Last July, the state Assembly honored Apusen for calling paramedics when he realized it had been days since he had seen another elderly woman on his route. She also had fallen and was critically hurt.
