City Honored for Helping Its Argentine Sister City

San Clemente has won a Sister Cities International award for a public safety project it conducted in its Argentine sister city last year.

The project, spearheaded by Orange County Fire Authority members stationed in and near San Clemente, is credited with fostering goodwill and improved the technical skills of firefighters in San Clemente del Tuyu, Argentina, and the nearby cities of Balcarce and Lomas de Zamora.

The San Clemente firefighters obtained equipment, provided training and coordinated shipment of three firetrucks donated by a local family born in Argentina.
