Amnesty International Seeks Letter Writers
The Ventura County chapter of Amnesty International, which campaigns against human rights abuses, is seeking volunteers to write letters of appeal at its annual “Write-A-Thon” June 16 in Ventura.
Participants will be provided fact sheets outlining abuses against individuals throughout the world. The Worldwide Appeal correspondences request action, such as an appeal for medical treatment for a prisoner. The letters are addressed to heads of state and other government officials.
The campaign will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at College United Methodist Church, 4300 Telegraph Road. For more information, call 643-6605 or 483-7953.
