Re “At NRA Convention, a Feeling of Overdue Vindication,” May 20: While the National Rifle Assn. trumpeted its success in electing George W. Bush, not one word was offered to explain the increasing explosion of handgun violence in America. This organization is responsible in large part for the proliferation of handguns that plagues so many of our teenagers.
The 2nd Amendment is an anachronism, something born in the 18th century, a fitting description of today’s NRA politics.
