Workshop to Focus on Library Expansion Plans
Ojai residents are invited to take part in a planning workshop Monday to discuss expansion proposals for the city’s public library.
An independent library consulting team, retained by the city, is recommending a much larger facility to meet the needs of the community. Ojai’s existing library is one of the most heavily used branches in the Ventura County Library system.
Annexing the current building is not a viable option, library officials say.
Locating a new site to build a modern facility will be among the topics to be discussed at the meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 401 S. Ventura St.
The consulting team’s full report will be outlined at the meeting.
Residents are encouraged to voice their opinions about site locations, environmental concerns, cost and other issues.
