* The actor is best known for his roles in “La Bamba,” “Stand and Deliver” and “Courage Under Fire.” Overnight Getaway: If it’s just me and Kelly, my wife, we’d probably do a little getaway evening and leave the kids with a sitter overnight. A couple of our favorite haunts are the Four Seasons or, if we’re in the beach mood, we go out to Shutters on the Beach. Depending on where we stay, that predicates where we’re going to eat. Ivy at the Shore is romantic, and One Pico, in Shutters, is also a wonderful restaurant.

Party of Eight: If we’re going to do dinner with a bunch of friends, we’d go someplace like Asia de Cuba in the Mondrian because they have incredible portions, and it’s a wonderful place to sit down with six or eight friends. It’s a bit of a scene, but it’s a lot of fun. We’d cap it off by going to a comedy club. My wife loves stand-up, and though I risk taking a couple of jabs, we’ll go to the Hollywood Improv or the Laugh Factory on Sunset.

Fearless Tykes: Saturday almost always involves the kids, and it usually involves the Santa Monica Pier. They love every single one of those rides on the pier. My girls-the youngest is 2, the twins are 4-are fearless. They’re just amazing and they have so much fun. We’d do a few hours there and let them ride all the rides. And they adore the beach, so we try to sneak off to a quiet place and let them play in the water a bit.

Walk With the Animals: In the afternoon we’ll go to the L.A. Zoo, because the girls love animals. They’ve got some new exhibits there. It’s clean. It’s friendly. And it’s a great walk. You have spend all day to see everything. But, most important, the animals look well taken care of. Their habitats are clean and spacious and they look healthy. It’s a great environment for the girls to see animals up close. We’ve also got yearlong passes to Sea World and recently spent all day down there and saw everything.
