Charitable Needs of Local Agencies

Share

I am moved and humbled by the generosity of children and working families for the survivors of those who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. People have donated dollars, quarters and significant checks to help people they do not know personally.

As we move into the holiday season and our economic outlook continues to look bleak, I encourage those in this generous community not to close their hearts and pockets to those strangers here in Los Angeles who will need their financial support. People who lose their jobs will continue to need health care. Schoolchildren at risk for depression and acting out will still need counseling. Families who have lost their homes will need food and shelter.

Let’s not forget to send our dollars, quarters and significant checks to our courageous local agencies that work to keep the fabric of our society strong.
