Sandoval Named to Deputy Mayor’s Post

Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn on Friday appointed Barbara Sandoval, a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Education, to fill the new post of deputy mayor for education and recreation.
Sandoval, a founding member of the National Latina Alliance, will start the job Dec. 17.
A deputy director for Fannie Mae’s Los Angeles Partnership Office, she will be in charge of the mayor’s education and public recreation initiatives.
Sandoval will maintain her seat on the county Board of Education.
