Ziff Davis Media Inc., publisher of PC Magazine and Yahoo Internet Life, said it’s cutting 11% of its staff after closing Smart Partner magazine and combining Interactive Week with eWeek.

About 75 positions will be eliminated at the New York-based magazine publisher, a spokeswoman said. Smart Partner, a magazine about technology and computers, had 85,000 subscribers, she said.

Interactive Week, which covered the Internet, will now become a section in eWeek, a magazine focused on information technology, she said. Ziff Davis is making the changes as demand for technology-related advertising tumbled after consolidation in the Internet, software and computer industries.

Closely held Ziff Davis follows other publishers in closing magazines after a decline in ad sales.

The Industry Standard, a weekly magazine started in 1998 to report on Internet-related businesses, quit publishing in August. Brill Media Ventures said last month that it would shut down Brill’s Content, a magazine covering the media.
