Apple Computer Inc. has issued a new version of its music jukebox software to fix a bug that wiped out data from the hard drives of some users.

The error in version 2.0 of the iTunes program occurs when it is installed on systems that run Mac OS X and have multiple hard drives or partitioned drives.

The company “strongly advises” anyone with the 2.0 version of iTunes, including the beta version, to “immediately remove the iTunes.pkg installer file from their system.”
