Hispanic Legacy Fund Is Close to 2001 Goal

The Ventura County Community Foundation’s fund that serves the region’s Latino community is close to meeting its 2001 endowment goal, officials said.
The Destino 2000: Hispanic Legacy Fund has collected nearly $340,000 this year, and supporters expect to reach their goal of $400,000 by the end of the year.
The fund was started in 1996 as a way to increase awareness of the issues facing the county’s Latinos.
So far, the fund has helped more than 9,000 residents, officials said.
