Xerox Shifts Controller Amid SEC Investigation

Xerox Corp. has reassigned its controller, who was responsible for the company’s accounting practices that now are under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission. A Xerox spokesman said Gregory M. Tayler remains well regarded by the company for his financial acumen.

Tayler was made treasurer of the Stamford, Conn.-based firm because the current treasurer, Eunice Filter, is retiring, a spokesman said. The move means Tayler will no longer sign off on SEC filings. The firm’s assistant controller will assume those responsibilities.

Xerox shares fell 51 cents to $6.58 on the New York Stock Exchange.
