Lawyer Pleads Guilty to Gun Possession
A former Beverly Hills lawyer pleaded guilty Tuesday to bringing a loaded handgun into the Woodland Hills branch of U.S. Bankruptcy Court last month.
Ronald W. Sampson, 64, would receive an eight-month prison sentence under terms of a plea agreement negotiated with prosecutors. Sentencing was set for March 4.
Sampson was arrested when a snub-nosed .38-caliber pistol was spotted inside his briefcase as it passed through a metal detector. He said he intended to take the gun to a gunsmith for cleaning and oiling after the court hearing.
