Christian Fellowship Wheels and Deals With Its ‘Skate Church’

Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Fountain Valley will offer “Skate Church” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Skaters can use the church’s new portable skate park which includes boxes, rails and a 4-foot half-pipe.

Skate Church will consist of almost two hours of skate time with a short Bible devotional midway through. It’s free. Everyone must wear a helmet, knee and elbow pads and shoes, and have a a permission slip filled out in advance. Permission slips can be obtained on the youth group Web site, https://www.waveuth.com.

* The American Jewish Committee, in sponsorship with other agencies in the Orange County Jewish community, will present a program Monday on Israeli-American relations. * The Anaheim United Methodist Church men’s group will open its annual “Santa’s Christmas Tree Lot” on Thursday. A large selection of grower-direct trees will be available at prices starting at $12.95. A grand-opening party will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. * Shazeen Mufti has been named the Orange County interfaith director for the National Conference for Community and Justice. Mufti, who lives in Lake Forest, has experience in media, diversity and nonprofit organizations, including work with the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and the Coalition of Asian and Middle Eastern Organizations. The National Conference for Community and Justice, founded in 1927, is a national human-relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism in America.
