Trigger Finger Proves Itchy at Texas Airport
A deer hunter’s rifle accidentally went off at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as the owner tried to show a ticket agent that the weapon was not loaded. No one was hurt.
The bullet went through a window and landed in a planter.
Airport spokeswoman Tina Sharp said the incident happened as the gun’s owner was checking luggage at a Delta Air Lines ticket counter for an elk-hunting trip.
No charges were filed against the man. He and his wife were allowed to board a later flight. Airport operations were not interrupted.
