Carnegie Museum Given $10,000 Outreach Grant
A fund-raising group for the Carnegie Art Museum has received a $10,000 grant to expand educational outreach to Ventura County youngsters.
The grant, awarded by the Bank of America Foundation, will be used by Carnegie’s Cornerstones group to educate elementary and middle school students on the art and cultural history in the museum’s growing collection of artwork by Latino artists.
The grant is expected to directly benefit 4,000 youngsters, teachers and parents in the coming year. The Cornerstones group raises funds to help the museum fulfill its artistic and educational mission to the community.
