Salvation Army’s Christian Philosophy

Share

My family and I were truly offended by Steve Lopez’s Nov. 23 column. Not only does he insult the Salvation Army, which is standing up for its principles while helping thousands of needy people, but he also insults all Christians by joking that Jesus Christ might have been gay.

We are not involved with the Salvation Army in any way, but we believe it has the right to run its organization in a manner consistent with its Christian philosophy. We also feel it denigrates your newspaper to allow a columnist with a pro-gay agenda to spew such anti-Christian venom at its readers.

Thanks to the information in Lopez’s column, the Salvation Army will not receive our donation. This year, instead, I am inserting his column in the Salvation Army’s envelope with a note asking that our name be removed from its list of supporters.
