Unbridled Heroism

The one enduring memory of Sept. 11 will be the stories of unbridled heroism. Acts of courage without regard to personal safety, without regard to incredible fear. Ordinary people who acted in an extraordinary way in the face of the most dire of circumstances.

Many stories have been told, conversations and deeds recounted. Each one of these individuals acting selflessly. We all must realize that for every story reported there are countless others that will remain with those who did not survive. A kind word, an extended hand, an assist to an escape route, all acts of kindness and courage that must have occurred many times over.

For the families of all the victims, please take comfort in knowing each and every person was a hero that September morning.
