Armed Intruders Evade Capture, Puzzle Police
Los Angeles police said Thursday they remain puzzled about the motives of two unidentified men who entered a California Federal Bank building Wednesday night in Echo Park and then evaded an intensive police search.
Nothing was taken from the bank, said police spokesman Jason Lee. “This remains the subject of an ongoing investigation,” he said.
A surveillance camera confirmed the suspects were armed and inside the building before a police helicopter landed on the roof and the search began.
A security guard told police he had been accosted by the men, who inquired about another helicopter that had been parked on the roof before police arrived.
