Beastly Fashion

I couldn’t believe my eyes! Page after page of tasteful, stylish men’s clothes were shown in your men’s fashion issue (Sept. 9). Even a 76-year-old like myself could visualize wearing them. The only glaring exception was in the article “Beauty and the Beast” (by Michael Quintanilla). The examples of self-absorbed, narcissistic fashion probably appeal to one-tenth of 1% of the male population. Good grooming enhances the cards that you’ve been dealt, but those clothes could not improve relationships, self-esteem or help in workplace competition--except, possibly, in the false world of entertainment.
