From Times Wire Reports

A toxicologist accused of poisoning her husband in November will stand trial for murder, a judge decided Friday.

After a hearing, the judge concluded that sufficient evidence exists to try Kristin Rossum, 24, for the murder of Greg DeVillers, 25.

Medical examiner Brian Blackbourne said DeVillers died from an overdose of sentanyl, a narcotic sometimes used to treat cancer patients.

Prosecutors allege that Rossum stole sentanyl from the medical examiner’s office, where she worked, and killed her husband because he threatened to tell her employer that she was having an affair with her supervisor and was using methamphetamine.
