A Sordid Tale of Drugs, Murders
Background
Former Hollywood nightclub owner Eddie Nash, whose given name is Adel Nasrallah, was indicted by a federal grand jury in May 2000 on 16 criminal counts ranging from racketeering to wire fraud to money laundering.
Nash, now 72, for years was suspected of ordering the bludgeoning deaths of four people at a Laurel Canyon drug den in 1981. The case, known as the Wonderland murders, came to symbolize the seamy side of the California lifestyle.
Guilty plea
Nash pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to federal racketeering charges, abruptly ending his 20-year cat-and-mouse game with authorities who have long believed he played the lead role in one of Southern California’s more lurid murder mysteries.
Nash’s guilty plea means he might be out of prison in less than two years. He faced a potential life term if convicted of all charges in a trial.
