Fresh Food: Friday night, I’d go to Yamato, a Japanese steakhouse off Kanan Road, or maybe to Lawry’s. Yamato has a great vibe-it’s kind of like Benihana, but a little bit more vibe. I like the seafood, lobster and shrimp. It feels safer, too, when you see your food cooked in front of you.Hit the Road: We live by these hills in Calabasas and I like to go take a jog and get away from everything. I go up in the hills by Mulholland. The trail goes on for miles, but I’ll just run two or three.Westside Story: I go to Zuma, or this beach just before Zuma, westward a few minutes. I love to spend the day at the beach. I don’t have a surfboard or anything, but I bodysurf, kind of. Midday I like to go to Santa Monica and hang out on Third Street watching all the street performers and stuff. There are cool eclectic performers down there. If you walk down the whole strip, it’s like getting into tons of different vibes. There’s some people playing guitars and others doing rock-rapping.

Off Stage: I might go to the Sunset Strip. Me and Rick [Woolstenhulme, Lifehouse drummer] did this when we were home. We just went to the House of Blues and the Viper Room and saw some random bands we’d never heard of. It was great just to be a fly on the wall and see all these bands.

Day Off: When we lived in L.A., our band would play at the church we went to on Sundays, so we’d do that from 11 to 1. My mom and sister live in L.A. and we’d go to lunch somewhere in Malibu. We used to eat at Coogie’s all the time, so maybe we’d end up there. It’s the relaxation day, when you try not to do anything.

Perfect Anytime: For a special occasion we’d go to Disneyland. I got married a little while ago, and that was where Braeden and I went on our first date. We love Disneyland. It’s one of those places you can go whatever age you are. I’d have to say Space Mountain is the most exciting, but Pirates of the Caribbean is pretty cool, too.
