A judge ruled in Vancouver that a Canadian citizen wanted in the United States on charges linking him to Hezbollah could be released on bail.

Ali Adham Amhaz, 35, was arrested Saturday under a warrant issued under the Extradition Act.

British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Marvyn Koenigsberg said the United States had yet to submit evidence to the court.

Koenigsberg ruled Amhaz could go free on certain conditions, including posting of $33,000 bail, reporting regularly to a bail supervisor, and continuing to reside at his present address.

Amhaz was one of four men of Lebanese descent indicted in North Carolina in March on charges of providing support to Hezbollah, which is on the State Department’s list of terrorist groups.
