A Few Hours of Grilling by FBI Nets Man an SUV
From Times Wire Reports
The Rev. Jack Copas is getting a new Passport sport-utility vehicle. Copas was approached by the FBI at a Honda dealership in Paramus, N.J., last spring after an employee mistook him for a child pornography suspect featured on Fox TV’s “America’s Most Wanted.”
FBI agents interrogated the Methodist minister--who has traveled to Thailand several times to battle child pornography and child slavery--for several hours before realizing they had the wrong man.
The dealership said it will give Copas the SUV as a goodwill gesture.
“I’m in the business of forgiving and forgetting,” said Copas, 47. “This is a big vehicle that will come in very handy transporting all the donations we get.”
