Cool-Season Vegetables

Share

This month, continue to plant the cool-season vegetables. Choose from beet, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, carrot, cauliflower, celery, endive, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, leek, head and leaf lettuce, onion, pea, radish, spinach, Swiss chard and turnip.

Cut gingers and cannas right to the ground after they finish flowering. If there are holes in the ground-cover plants of gazanias, divide plants and use extras to fill the holes. Prune oleanders now so they can grow through winter and flower next summer.
