Sullivan to Join Microsoft Suit
The 18 states that joined the Justice Department in suing Microsoft Corp. have hired prominent trial lawyer Brendan Sullivan to represent them in court if negotiations fail to achieve a settlement in the landmark antitrust case, sources said.
Sullivan is best known for his successful defense of Lt. Col. Oliver North during the Iran-Contra scandal. He succeeds Stephen Houck, who represented the states in earlier Microsoft proceedings and then left the office of the New York attorney general.
