Update--Hernandez has not been nearly as dominant this October as he was in past postseasons, struggling with his command. In his last start, Game 3 of the AL championship series, the right-hander gave up five runs and five hits in five innings of a 14-3 loss to Seattle, throwing 125 pitches. Before that, Hernandez needed 111 pitches to get through 52/3 innings of a 9-2 win over Oakland in Game 4 of the division series, giving up two runs and eight hits. Schilling, the Game 1 winner who has been perfect in the postseason, will be pitching on three days’ rest instead of Miguel Batista.
