There’s something for everyone this weekend with the amount of first-run programming beginning to add up as we ease our way toward fall.

For youngsters and teens, there are season premieres of NBC’s “City Guys” and “Just Deal” today at 8 and 9 a.m., respectively. “City Guys,” the broad comedy from executive producer Peter Engel (“Saved by the Bell”) about high school students in New York, starts its fifth and final season as Jamal (Wesley Jonathan) turns a nerd into an egotist by teaching him how to be cool. As the season progresses, the classmates will gear up for graduation.

Meanwhile, Fox counters with the premieres of two new series aimed at youngsters. “Medabots” (7:30 a.m.) is set in the year 2122 when every kid owns a high-powered robot with artificial intelligence. “Moolah Beach” (8 a.m.) is a “Survivor”-type game show in which six teams of teens compete for a prize of $25,000 by taking part in a series of challenges. Moving to Sunday, the family-friendly Pax network offers the debut of “Ed McMahon’s Next Big Star” (6 p.m.), a one-hour “Star Search” variation in which contestants perform for cash and prizes.

At 8 p.m., Billy Ray Cyrus returns for the second season of the medical drama “Doc,” which serves as the lead-in for “The Ponderosa,” a prequel to the long-running western “Bonanza.” Daniel Hugh Kelly plays Ben Cartwright.
