Bandanna to Join Ribbonas Breast Cancer Symbol

Share

The looped pink ribbon has become the universal symbol for breast cancer awareness. But another sign of solidarity in the fight against breast cancer will make its fashion debut this fall.

A funky, polka-dot bandanna, created by Italian designer Leonello Borghi, will be distributed at Race for the Cure events nationwide this year. That includes the Sept. 23 race in Orange County and the Los Angeles event on Nov. 4.

The bandanna is already being promoted by celebrities such as Rick Fox and Vanessa Williams in current issues of style magazines. A special-edition silk scarf will also be available for $12 at Macy’s from now until the end of October.

Proceeds from sales of the scarf benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the American Cancer Society and the Big Bam! Foundation.
