Sheriff’s Investigators to Make Way for Lab
- Share via
Ventura County sheriff’s officials have announced plans to relocate about 30 investigators to create space for equipment and staff members in the department’s crime lab.
Beginning today, the investigators will operate out of the American Commercial Bank building on Hill Street, across the street from their office at the Ventura County Government Center.
The department hopes to build a new crime lab estimated to cost $18 million, though it could take up to six years to complete. Sheriff Bob Brooks will ask the Board of Supervisors today to approve spending $149,000 on a consultant.
