Honor Your Words With Your Actions

Of course none of us would knowingly support evil--as in what we saw on Sept. 11 in Manhattan and Washington. Certainly we all need to drive our cars, but do we really need four-wheel-drive behemoths to drive to work and back? We know part of our petrol dollars go to unfriendly Middle East countries. Don’t stop driving, but own a car and drive with reverence for the implications of what you do.

I am deeply disturbed by the events of Sept. 11. My condolences to those who have lost lives and loved ones. What disturbs me almost as much is the oil companies’ rapid response in raising the price of gasoline. Nothing like a national disaster to bring out the best. God bless us all.
