A partial list of New York City closings in response to the
World Trade Center attack:
* All subway stops below Canal St. are not operational.
* The New York Stock Exchange, the Nasdaq Stock Market and the American Stock Exchange were closed until at least Friday.
* New York state postponed its primary elections.
* Limited outbound service on the Long Island Railroad.
* Limited outbound service on Metro-North Railroad.
* Trains to New Jersey shut down.
* Empire State Building closed.
* Metropolitan Museum of Art closed.
* Brooklyn Public Library closed.
* Classes canceled at St. John’s University.
