Because of Tuesday’s attacks, a number of arts, entertainment and leisure events have been canceled or postponed. It is advisable to call venues to confirm events. As of press time, these events had been canceled, changed or postponed:

* Today’s half of this weekend’s Doheny Days 2001 pop-reggae music festival in Dana Point has become a fundraiser for the Red Cross after several key acts were forced to cancel because of transportation problems. Ticket prices were dropped from $30 to $10, with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund. All the acts for Sunday’s reggae bill, including Burning Spear, Third World, Eek-A-Mouse and Culture, were on track to play as scheduled. . (949) 262-2662.

* Mexican Independence Day festivals scheduled for this weekend have been canceled at the request of Mexican President Vicente Fox, who asked consuls in the United States to demonstrate Mexico’s respect for lives lost in the Tuesday bombing of buildings in New York City and Washington. These include the Fiesta of the Americas in downtown Santa Ana, a two-day festival in Anaheim, and a Cal State Fullerton event. Merchants in Santa Ana will place white ribbons downtown as a memorial gesture. The two-day Anaheim event will be Sept. 22-23.

* Comic John Witherspoon’s appearance at the Irvine Improv has been canceled, Ralph Harris will take his place. Shows are: tonight andSunday.

* The Ron Kobayashi Trio will play a benefit for the victims of the World Trade Center attack on Sunday in Huntington Beach at Restaurant Kikuya. Proceeds will be donated to the United Way of New York City.

* Opera Pacific will donate proceeds of its “Festa Italiana” program Sunday at Irvine Bowl in Laguna Beach to the American Red Cross. The audience at the 7:30 p.m. concert devoted to the music of Verdi will also be able to donate additional funds to the Red Cross. (800) 34-OPERA.

* There will be no fireworks during the “Fireworks Finale-the First Ten Years!,” now renamed “Anniversary Finale--The First Ten Years!,” at the Hollywood Bowl tonight and Sunday. Singer Billy Gilman will not appear; 16-year-old singer Lauren Frost has been added to the program. * The American Cinematheque Award Show honoring Nicolas Cage scheduled for Sept. 22 will be rescheduled.

* The Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds concerts scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday at the Wiltern Theatre have been canceled. * Karen Finley’s performances Thursday through Sept. 22 at Sushi Performance & Visual Art will be rescheduled for January.

* Broadway singer Davis Gaines’ concerts scheduled for tonight and Friday at the Norris Center for the Performing Arts in Rolling Hills Estates have been postponed.

* Madonna’s Tuesday concert has been rescheduled for tonight at Staples Center. Because of heightened security measures, ticket holders should arrive at least an hour before the 8 p.m. show.

* Two Blink-182 concerts have been rescheduled. The Thursday concert at the Arrowhead Pond has been rescheduled for this Sunday. Last Wednesday’s Long Beach Arena concert will be held Wednesday.

* Jessica Simpson’s concert tonight at the Sun Theatre has been rescheduled for Oct. 28.
