Group of 8 Industrial Nations to Meet in U.S.
The Group of 8 industrial nations plans to meet on U.S. soil to discuss last week’s terror attacks, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said.
Berlusconi, currently head of the group, told reporters in London after talks with British leaders that he had proposed the idea to President Bush and Washington had backed it. No timing or site was set for the meeting.
The Group of 8 comprises Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States.
Berlusconi also confirmed that European Union leaders will meet in Brussels on Friday to discuss a response to the attacks.
