Tighten Immigration
Re “Immigration System Allows Some to Sidestep Procedures,” Sept. 16: The question “How did they get in?” can be answered quite simply: because we invited them. Our colleges and universities recruit students from overseas--including nations hostile to our interests--because they profit from the higher tuition rates. Our businesses draw millions of illegal immigrants--of doubtful allegiance--because they lust for cheap labor. Our government gives away 55,000 visas in a lottery--many to persons whose cultures are antagonistic to ours--because certain senators demand it.
Our safety will be furthered by tighter immigration laws.
