8 Arrested, 30 Pounds of Heroin Seized
Federal drug agents and local police arrested eight suspected heroin dealers Wednesday, seizing 30 pounds of heroin and $117,000 in cash, authorities said.
Nationwide, 50 operatives of a suspected family-run heroin ring were arrested, including alleged leader Jose Serrano, 29, in Los Angeles, said Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Jose Martinez.
The alleged drug ring operated out of Missouri, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Portland and Mexico, he said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies, prosecutors with the district attorney’s office and police from Burbank, Downey, South Gate and Glendale participated in 13 raids, he said.
