Three French Impressionist oil paintings, valued at about $500,000, were donated to Cal State Northridge this week--the largest art gift in the school’s history, university officials said.
Ernest Warsaw, 81, gave the paintings to CSUN because he was impressed by its efforts to create a new art collection.
The centerpiece of the three works, Maurice de Vlaminck’s “La Ferme de la Haute-Folie,” is “the prized one we were flabbergasted by,” said David Moon, art department chairman.
“We’re all very fortunate to get this kind of recognition here.”
